Recycling: 1.great way to stop polution
2.you can turn old stuff into nice new stuff
3.stops people from ruining animal homes on trees
4. finally let's me to do some art with you
I'm a fan of recycling and love when people do it but we only have one bin at my house, don't recycle and my parents are not fans of the whole save the world thing. But i love art and to help the eviroment I make art out of junk. Here are some ideas.
This little piggy (bank) started off at the market as a bleach bottle. To make one, rinse an empty bottle with hot soapy water; let dry. Cut features such as eyes, ears, and nostrils from construction paper (ears should have tabs). Attach with double-sided tape, as shown. Tape patterned paper around body. Hot-glue empty thread spools on for legs. Cut a slot at the top for coins, and a hole in back to insert a pipe-cleaner tail.
To make bottle cap belts, you will need a nail, hammer, 16 to 20 bottle caps, 10- or 12-ft. heavy white cord, and adhesive tap. Punch 4 holes in the tops of bottle caps. Remove cork. Cut cord in half. Tightly bind all ends of cord with tape to make stringing of caps easier. String caps on cord, using both pieces, in cross-stitch fashion (in other words, string the cord in an 'x' shape on the caps). Cross or letter 'x' is formed on inside of cap. Leave about 1" between caps (measuring on top of cap). Adjust belt to fit waist. Leave equal lengths of cord at each end for tying.
Gather the following items: Corrugated cardboard (enough for four sides 9" x 12" x 7" and 1 bottom 7" square), paper punch, scissor, pictures or paint and brush, 36" of adhesive cloth tape, some sort of sealer or shellac; and 19 feet of plastic lacing. Cut cardboard for bottom of wastebasket. Punch holes around edge 1" apart and 1/4" in from edge. (Start 1/2" from corners.) Cut 4 sides like pattern above. Start 1/2" from corners and punch holes 1" apart along 12" and sides (1/4" from edge). Decorate with pictures from magazines or from the Internet (ask Mom or Dad to help you find images) or paint. Bind 9" sides with adhesive cloth Use Sealer or Shellac to protect the waste basket. Cut four 3 foot 6" strips of lacing to lace sides together. Begin at bottom and lace like a shoe; tie at top. (See sketch.) Use a large needle to lace bottom to sides.
Have a lot of fun making this inexpensive craft. I think you will find all of the items around your house for this one. Cover your table with newspaper or garbage bags or something else that will guarantee that you won't mess up your parents' table. Then get a few containers of paint...in different colors. Then dip string in the paint...moving to different colors as you move down the length of the string. The length of the string largely depends on the size of your jar...so I can't give you an exact length. Just go much bigger than your assume the string will have to be. Take the label off of your jar...and the lid. Then cover your jar with clear glue. Slowly wrap the string around the jar, pressing it down as you go up the jar. When you reach the top of the jar, glue the end of the string inside the jar...pressing it down until it dries. A nice touch is to glue down string words or designs or names on top of the string jar you just made.
Make a Winter Forest out of a Jar and Egg Shells
This is a great way to use an empty jar. First, crush some egg shells...this will be the snow. A lot of people use glitter inside the snow globe but the snow comes out better this way. However, if you don't have egg shells, than you are more than welcome to use glitter. Next, glue some stuff onto the bottom of the lid that would resemble the woods...such as leaves, stones, pebbles, grass, moss, twigs, etc Next, take the egg shells and throw them in the jar...then add mineral oil up to the top of the jar. Now glue the lid on and then seal it with parental supervision ... as you will need to use hot glue or caulk and this is dangerous for children to do unsupervised.
If you got more ideas plz let me know.
